What type of home insurance cover is available?

Insurers offer buildings, contents, personal belongings, cycle cover and family legal protection. In addition, there is the option to include accidental damage cover to buildings and/or contents to the standard cover.

The personal belongings section covers the everyday items that you take outside of your home, such as jewellery, clothing, watches,  and any other items you normally wear, use or carry (limits apply).  Family legal protection provides cover up to the specified amount of legal costs to pursue claims such as personal injury, employment disputes, contract disputes and property disputes.  If you need any items to be specified on your contents policy such as any high-risk item or valuables over the insurer’s limit you need to inform your insurer along with the value so they can be specified on your policy.
